I’ve been a freelance editor since 2010, and I've had the pleasure of working with hundreds of authors over the years. Because I’m also a writer, I understand many of your concerns and the desire to protect and preserve your voice in your work, which is always my top priority.
I have both traditional and indie publications. My publication credits include poetry, short fiction, technical writing, nonfiction, and a fiction novel, The Light in the Sound. One of my short stories was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2018, and I have a number of forthcoming publications (more info at vganderson.com). I studied Psychology, Creative Writing, and Journalism at Indiana University. I have an MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University, and a Professional Certificate in Editing from UC Berkeley. During graduate school, I interned as an editor with The Louisville Review and Dzanc Books. Post-graduation, I taught composition, literature, creative writing, and persuasive rhetoric courses on campus for Daytona State College and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, then online for Southern New Hampshire University. I also have an extensive background in graphic design and marketing. My favorite novel is Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson. Fall on Your Knees by Ann-Marie MacDonald is a close second. Though I doubt anything will ever sweep me off my feet again the way A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle did when I was in the fourth grade. My favorite words are wanderlust, petrichor, and sapiosexual. But enough about me! I'd love to hear about your writing and publishing goals and to discuss how I can help you succeed. Hop on over to my contact form and drop me an email. I look forward to hearing from you! :) |
